Turbo Question

I own a 1st gen and making it turbo, the turbo I have, I was told the turbo itself was of a turbo2, wanted to know how would I be sure if its actually from a turbo2, let me know u guys! Thanks!

As much as I know about them is to tell offhand is if it has a twin scroll on it. It is on the back a lil canister with a vac line sticking up on the exhoust side of it. This is for S4 models only. S5 models do not have this they have a V in the manifold to help spool them up. Thats all I know off hand.

does the turbo say ht18s on it? that would be a dead give away.

yup, hitachi HT18S on the compressor housing. as far as i know, mazda are the only ones who ever used it.
