Turbo: Pre cat cherry red

Yea I let my car idle today (has a idle problem) and i seen the pre cat (on the downpipe) glow cherry red, I was wondering if this is common or if it is clogged or something....

Either clogged, or you're running too lean. Does the turbo glow a bit too on the hotside?

I say ditch that SOB... if you can't afford a new exaust right now, atleast gut the thing.

If you don't have to worry about emissions where you live.. hell, gut the main cat while you're at it Just be careful of your boost... you might have to end up porting your wastegate while you're at it.. as when doing exaust mods, this can increast boost upto 10+psi. Or, gut em all, and plan fuel mods accordingly.
