Turbo power steering pump > NA rack

Can anyone tell me if a turbo/speed sensing PS pump can be made to work with an NA / RPM-sensing rack?

My power steering has always worked OK, but often during rapid steering changes it has a tendency to freeze, which is OK for normal driving, but baaaad for performance driving. I can't find any info on what's causing this, so I figure I would use a turbo pump off a JDM engine if I ever get around to doing a swap some day.

Should I just go and buy a remanned speed-sensing rack ($175 if you can find one) and use the pump, or will a turbo pump (three hose) work with an NA rack (two hose) with some work?

I wonder about the control unit though. Do you have to change the PS computer too?
