turbo o2 housing idea

i was with my friend the other day and he have a lancer evo and he was telling me that he was planning to put a o2 housing on his turbo that it will pick up 15 hp after tuning. my question is why anybody have tried that on a stock turboed rx7? i dont see why shouldnt work. specially with all the boost creep we always get

LOL.. Its something they do when they get aftermarket o2 housings. It does nothing for a rotary.

Rx7's don't have 02 housings. The 02 housing on a DSM/EVO is part of the turbo outlet which would be similar to adding a downpipe to an Rx7.

No, not just a simple downpipe but a "big-mouth" downpipe that collects both turbine and wastegate exhaust flows in one big pipe that tapers to the normal exhasut pipe. This significantly reduces turbulence at both the turbine and wastegate and hence increases flow through both. Greater flow through the turbine increases power and greater flow through the wastegate reduces boost creep.

AFAIK there is nothing commercially available like this for the FC. I'm making my own, here's the beginnings...
