to Turbo or not to Turbo?

I'm the proud owner of an 87 SE and, well, I desire a bit more power. I am plagued with a tough decision.. I live out in hawaii so turboII motors are not exactly easy to come by. i have the oppurtunity to pick up a TII shortblock, tranny, driveshaft and rear end for only $200. It looks like it would cost me around $1k in longblock parts to get it running.. is this worth it? can you guys think of a way to get it running for cheaper? im a highschool student so im a little pressed for cash.. wut do you guys think? i need to make a decision on these parts soon so any advice is welcome.. thanks!

-Will

just a thought.. could i part the stuff out for more than 200 anyway?

I had a very similar self-debate about a T2-swap....then I sold my '88 GXL and bought a '87 T2...best move I've ever done

Just buy a TII. I did it. My friend did it. Everyone does it who doesn't want to spend more money and take more time, not to mention the effort
