FL turbo noise

ok well i asked a question a while back about a rattle snake like noise and someone told me to check my turbo to see if it had any play inside and so i did and it does... which sucks bc i love the whole turbo rotary combo. it is amazing i am in love with boost.

my dilema is weather i should get another turbo or should i go supercharged bc i have seen some with the supercharger on.

i would like to know any personal experiences with both bc i am looking to put a strut tower link in the front but i cant with my NA/turbo set up. which im not happy with.

taking the turbo off isn't too bad, you have to drain the coolant which is a pain. It's a lot easier if you have taken off the airpump and ACV.

I would just take it off and send it to BNR (http://bnrturbos.com/2ndGen.htm) and have him rebuild it for you.

get another stock turbo for $100 or $150. going supercharger would be a step backwards if you ask me..

Yeah get another stock turbo. Why wouldn't you be able to use a strut bar with an NA-Turbo?

+1

in an NA turbo everything should be in the same place as a normal turbo... and I have a strut bar no problem.

A little side to side play is normal. As long as the wheels don't touch the housings, don't sweat it.

Front to back is bad.

But are you sure the noise isn't detonation? "Rattle snake" would describe detonation pretty well.
