Turbo a N/A fc
Turbo a N/A fc
Hello all new to owning a rx7, long time fan. Just bought a N/A fc, wanting to thro a turbo on it, heard there were slight fitment issues. Also was wondering what would be a good turbo kit, and where could I find one besides the junk eBay bullshit. Please help shed some light on this for me.
There are tons of threads on turboing NA's - look for Aaron's Cake's project TIINA builds. But there aren't kits to just bolt a turbo on, nor can you just swap a turbo intake and exhaust onto an NA keg, the ports don't match up (exhausts match, but the diffusers in the NA exhaust ports should be removed); it will require fabrication, and in general, it will usually make more sense to swap a turbo engine and drivetrain rather than turbo an NA car.

Thank you I did so much more browsing, therefore stumbling upon a thread with even a link to a website created to guide someone who wants to do this build. I'm a welder/fabricator so this does not scare me but rather intrigues me. Ive been a part of this forum for less than 24 hours and already love it, so much information about almost anything you want to know on rotarys and rx7s. And Also seems like good atmosphere 👍 I feel like after I do the build the custom fab way, in the end it will be more of a gratifying accomplishment. My end game goal is at least 700 hp
