Turbo is leaking

I have a real bad exhaust leak coming from my turbo. I took the cover off and there is like white gas residue by the turbo conncetion to the downpipe. I think my turbo seal is dead. Should i replace it or keep driving it like that.

eh, keep driving it until it really starts to **** you off, then spend the 50 bucks (ugh... damned mazda) on a new turbo outlet gasket and replace it.

PS Probably won't damage anything else if you leave it, so don't worry too much.

i have the same prob with my car but it is getting a new motor next week. if you have a mazdacomp discount the prices are alot better. the motor to mnaifold gasket is- $40.30, manifold to turbo-$22.05, and turbo to downpipe-$28.95

I recently fixed an exhaust leak on my TII. When pulling the turbo I found that three of the four bolts were very loose (almost finger tight) AND three of the four manifold bolts were loose also. I used new stock nuts and washers when I changed the gaskets last year and torqued to factory specs. . I have no idea why they loosened up. You might just check the torque on the bolt/nuts before you buy anything.

Mazdaformance.com may be able to cut you a deal on the gaskets. They also have parts diagrams online so you can talk part numbers.
