Turbo lag opinions

I have a full cut bridgeport s5 turbo block. There is an Air Research(Garrett) turbo really cheap on our version of Ebay(Its called Trademe) trouble is the exhaust side is 1.32 a/r and its divided. Is this gonna be incredibly lag-tastic? I dont want to run high boost either, maybe 10-12psi. Am i gonna be stuck waiting and waiting and waiting and when it hits is it gonna come on slow and fade away or come on strong and stay strong til the end?

How much power do you plan to make? that's quite large...if your goal is under 400hp it may be a bit laggy down low.

i would be happy anywhere between 350-450. but 450 would be fairly extreme.

That's a recipe for lag. Any more info on the turbo? Like wheel sizes?

At the very least go down to the 1.15 housing on a full bridge.

well a full bridgeport shifts the powerband into the higher rpm ranges anyway

It sounds like it could be a T04b from a diesel. A 50mm inducer is pretty small; if you could confirm a 70mm compressor exducer size, that would make it a step above a T04b S-trim. So it would flow somewhere under 40 lbs/min around 1 bar. If we use Howard Coleman's HP estimate for that airflow, you get about 300 whp: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/feeding-turbo-rotary-horsepower-airflow-fuels-881992/.

I just bought this instead. Lag-tastic or not im excited. Its got a 22cm squared exhaust housing. I think its an h1e. Anyone running one and have opinions?

thats rather large, probably will have some lag but when it boosts its gonna be like a major kick in the ***** - but in a good way.
