turbo internals vs non-turbo

turbo internals vs non-turbo

are there any internal differences between the turbo 13b and the non-turbo 13b other than the rotors?

what i need to know is can i rebuild a non-turbo motor, put in some turbo rotors, then bolt on an exhaust manifold and intake manifold for a turbo 13b and use a haltech e6k to control it all.

any help is appreciated

Besides the ports and rotors, the internals are basically the same.

On the turbo front housing (vs the NA):
Aux port was eliminated
and oil suction hole was added

in the intermediate housing:
Intake port and time is different.
air passage for the EGR was eliminated
Port air passage was added
water passage was added
oil level gauge pipe was shortend
oil filler pipe shape was changed.

rear housing:
aux port was eliminated

Front rotor/rear rotor housings:
water passage was added for turbo
Free flow port insert was used
port air passage opposite on turbo to the NA

Front cover:
oil return hole was added

on the rotors themselves:
Volumn of rotor recess enlarged
cromium plating applied to apex seal groove

side seals were impregnated with molybdenum disulfide

and flywheel was larger and heavier

wow, thats alot of stuff.

i guess it would be better to just sell the non-turbo motor and put that money toward a turbo motor.
