Turbo II won't start

I recently purchased a 87 Turbo II with 148K miles in okay working condition. I let the car sit for a week and now would not start. As soon as I turn the key in the on position 3 beeps would come on, beep...beep...beep...........beep...beep...beep... ........beep...beep...beep, etc. I also smell a rich amount of fuel coming from the outside. As I replaced the spark plugs I found out that it was heavily drenched in fuel, So I replaced the spark plugs (NGK BUR7EQ & BUR9EQ) and plug wires (Blue NGK) and did an oil change (Castrol 20/50 w/Fram filter) while I was at it. I also removed the power steering and the air condition. The Turbo II cranks but sounds like it just needs a little nudge to turn over and still smells like fuel, and the beeping sound continues. Any suggestions?

Thank you for the help!

As I did more research in the forum, I noticed that majority of the fuel smell problem comes from Pulsation Damper. Is there any alternative besides replacing the Pulsation Damper, possibly plug it? Thanks again.

I swapped my series 4 fuel rails for series 5. While it isn't unheard of for S5 rails to go bad, it is FAR less common than S4

Not really, they still suck. I suggest replacing it with a new s4 pd every few years. It just sounds like you flooded the motor though.

rich smell of gas from the OUTSIDE??? that is probably a bad thing, possibly a fuel leak. if you've already changed your PD (pulsation damper), look elsewhere, but i still think it has something to do with fuel. do you still smell fuel from the outside since you've changed the PD?
is it possible that the car is flodded really really badly? thats what it sounds like to me.
take out your spark plugs and crank the engine (with the fuel fuse out of course.
and i'm sure you've heard this before, but dont drive anywhere if you smell fuel. especially if you smell it on the sides of the car (not the exhaust)

Sorry about your car jacobcartmill The car is in a garage. When I try to crank it over I smell the gas fumes already. ALSO I forgot to mention after I drove the car around before this happened after shutdown a light cloud of white smoke would appear under the hood. It looks like its coming around the lower intake manifold and turbo area. Could that possibly be the Pulsation Damper leaking? No, I haven't replaced the PD yet.

The pulsation damper isnt near the turbo. Sounds like a water line is leaking on the turbo or something

Water Leak?

Any thoughts on what and where the water leak might be coming from.

as far as the PD goes, i replaced the PD in my 88 TII with a banjo bolt....works great and i havent notcied any bad things due to installing it....
its a real easy install as long as you get the right part #....do a search for banjo bolt and you'll get all the info that you need.....but seriously......dont drive that car with a fuel leak......i honestly dont know how mine didnt catch on fire with the 3 simultanious fuel leaks that i had.....
dont let your baby burn!

.

I took off my upper intake manifold this morning and found that it is not the Pulsation Damper. The plastic cap and screw were still intact with the screw screwed in all the way. I also found that my turbo does not spin freely, when I try to spin it, it takes a bit of effort to turn it. And the inlet duct is cracked about and inch. Thanks again guys for the help.

some say that the screw doesnt have to be out for it to still leak, but mine was hangin out inside the plastic cap, and not in the actuall PD.....did you jump the fuel system....that will help in finding the fuel leak ALOT....you'll be able to hear the hissing of the leak (most likely) as well as smell the fuel immediatley....check your injectors...i had to have mine sent off to RC engineering (who did a great job).....thats where one of my leaks was....i also had some bad hose....and of course the PD....check those, but be sure to pressurize the fuel system while the engine is off.....this will help you find it quickly.......
