turbo II hood scoop

a friend of mine recently got a turbo II for 3000 but n e ways uhh he was wondering if n e thing happens when you drive in the rain like water going in through the hood scoop and into the intercooler?? any thoughs ??

no the water wont hurt it.the intercooler works like the radiator. Air passes over it to cool the intake air moving within...no air is actually pulled into the engine from there. In fact the water might prove to be a bit beneficial...

There's a tray on the bottom of the IC that sort of makes the water exit out the back.

What was that line out of that song Hotrod Lincoln? Rain blowin under my hood's doin my engine good.

yea...its acctually like water cooling a computer, sorry for the geek reference. I was working with one earlier this evening. But yeah, the water can actually cool the air further
