One of those eBay electric superchargers would work very well for this purpose, but you really only need it when the car is sitting still or creeping in traffic.

I didn't have any heat shields with my T2 conversion stuff that I bought recently, so just how much of an air gap do you recommend for the heat shield? Also, which items need it? I'll look into the FSM tonight when I get home to see what the stock ones cover, but in case you have any other recommendations for additional items for heat shielding, I'd like to hear it.
