Hi, I am a sports car enthusiast and would like to get into the 2nd Generation Turbos (Turbo IIs) for a project car. I want something fast and am thinking about the possibility of buying a body and doing an engine overhaul. Is a 13B engine the same engine they use for the Turbo and NA? If not is an overhaul much work to put a Turbo 13B in a NA car? I know there are a lot of things to mess with i.e. electrical wiring harnesses, downpipe, maybe even the tranny...

 

Why dont you try looking in the 2nd gen archive. There should be detailed adn definitive answers there. IF not do a search for posts in 2nd gen specific for turbo conversion.

I would answer your question, but I have done so already 4 times this week for other newbies. Maybe someone else feels froggy enough to explain it all again?

 

Where at in VA are ya? I got a TII! Can't blame ya, around richmond, you can find NA's with with near 100k miles for around 2-2.5K...If you could find a TII (dead preferably-its cheaper!) and swap a rebuilt or jspec motor in, that'd be the way to go. NA-TII is alot of parts, alot of work.
