turbo engine swap help, wiring harness
I'm finishing pulling the engine on my turbo as I'm getting a J-Spec tomorrow. I'm using the factory service manual and I think I've got most everything out. Anyway someone told me the easiest way to get the engine wiring harness out is to just unhook it from the ECU and pull it with the engine. I'm pretty sure the ECU has other wiring hooked up to it and I don't want to pull anything through the firewall or dash I don't need to. So, which connectors and wires will I need to pull or is there an easier way besides cutting? Also, anything else I should know about?

your on the right track. pull back carpet and take kick plate off pass side. you have to undo 2 of the connectors from the ecu and about 3 or 4 other ones too, i forget which ones though. i know one is for the atmospheric pressure sensor, and maybe knock unit. you can figure it out though, not too hard. just tug on the harness from engine bad and you can see the wires wiggle under the kick panel.
the other connector to ecu that does not come out through firewall on that side controls ignition/tps/cas etc.
edit, that harness is right infront of me now. by the kick panel you have to undo the 18 and 10 pin connectors off ecu. the pressure sensor connector. a 13 female pin and a 15 female pin connector (both yellow in color). and also a white connector w/ 4 wires going in it.

Thanks, I'm about to go back to working on it. One other question, the new one is a J-Spec and they were saying something about the exhaust might be hard to put on, why would that be?
