turbo engine out of car, what stuff should I do?

Hey guys, I'm going to be a new turbo owner. My turbo motor is currently out of my donor car, what stuff should I do to it? What should I remove or replace while it's out?

Throttle body mod! well, the engine doesn't have to be out for that one, but i'm sure it would be easier

remove the vac rack, premix, rebuild if it isn't already (streetport), Make sure your oil pan gasket is good because it won't be long before it starts leaking and to get to it after it is in requires removing the motor mounts and lifting the engine up. hum......I'm sure there is more stuff just can't remember

Paint your engine bay. Totally degrease and paint the engine.

Replace all the vacuum hoses, purge valve and sensors. No reason to pull your vac rack and emissions. You won't gain anything. Also, change the two o-rings under the oil filter, and take a look at that oil pan gasket while you are there. Replace metering oil pump lines if they look too brittle.

Good call on painting the bay Aaron! When I swapped my last motor, I didn't do that. I've been wishing I did since that day.

drop all the heavy stereo BS. You will like to hear the turbo spool.
