turbo does not want to go into boost

yeah well this is yet another thing that is wrong with my car. Shes falling apart faster than the mona lisa.
Well anyway my car suddenly does not want to go into boost. There is a major lack of power over -10 vac (aftermarket boost gauge). It just basically bogs if i step on it hard on a hill. This really sucks guys its never happened before to me.
The turbo is off of a s5 TII from japan. I got it online about 2 years ago. I ported the WG a lot, but the turbo was boosting to 8psi a few weeks ago and now nothing. Ive only put maybe 10k on it so this is very disapointing. I mean i cant imagine what else it could be because the turbo now makes a wining niose insted of the nice spool sound it used to make.
By the way there is no oil comming from the turbo that i can see, there is an acceptable amount of play on the compressor wheel, and the car is smoking but ONLY at idle when it just hits operating temp.
Any ideas on this situation???
please dont let me down give me some great ideas.
Check sig this car is slightly modded.
Thanks.

I don't see what you are using to control boost.....

Anywho...did you double check the vacuum line that goes to the WG actuator...maybe the wg flapper is stuck open for some reason....

And you are sure there is no oil in the intake piping?

i am using an overly ported WG to control boost becuase my exaust is complelty open(check sig) and i was having major boost creep issues untill after i ported the WG more. I was boosting to 8psi, for a few months and now like i say im getting like a wining noise and pretty much no boost.

I tested the WG by applying pressure to it and it opens fine. The vaccum tube is connected, in fact just to test it i diconnected it and found the same problem was happening.

Could be a boost leak, have you gone over everything to make sure it's tight/hooked up/etc? And is that -10 at idle?

Yeah its like theres a major leak, but my idle is at 800rpm and i have -18vac at idle also. I know i have everything hooked up i mean we all know that if there was a leak the idle would be crazy. I have the engine pretty much all sealed up.
Unless there was a leak in the turbo itself, like on the exaust side. Im not seeing any exaust smoke comming from the turbo but i guess that also could be a possibilty.
