Turbo dead?

I started my car today, but noticed the Idle wanted to die and it sounded like there was a hole in my exhaust. Looked at the mufflers and it was puffing blew smoke. Could it be the turbo?

More sounds like the motor lost a seal and that went into the turbo... Do a compression test.

A blown turbo shouldnt affect idle at all unless the turbo shaft is seized (might then because of the exhaust blockage).

the turbo is super easy to find out whether or not it is seized check the shaft play and freenes of it spinning. it should spin really freely, and there should be extremely little shaft play! just take off the intake and check it out! not very difficult. (make sure car is not running and is cold)
