well....I will first say, there are a lot of other threads all about TII swaps...but i know you dont want that answer and neither would I. So, in order to do a swap, you need a lot of time, a lot of money...though you think you may not, you probably will, and a lot of patience.
I just finished a swap in my 1991 RX-7 convert. into a TII, it took me 3 months and we had only originally planned for about 2 weeks. However, I did do a lot of different things, but for a stock swap, you need an S5 motor(for your 1990 RX-7) all of the required extra sensors, which is either 2 or 3 sensors/control unit things and the your stock harness, along with misc. stuff along the way. You have to be very methodical about when you pull your N/A motor from the car andlabel every single wire when you disconnect things, DONT cut anything, the more things ntact the easier it will be later on. You can use the N/A driveline, just be easy on it once the swap is done.ummm...i would put a better radiator in it, i used the koyo N-Flow radiator..has worked pretty good so far. TII hood if your going to use the stock intercooler setup...its a lot easier than the FMIC that I did. The Turbo ECU, and I think thats getting close to all the main parts...if I think of more I will add on. Keep looking for those other threads and they will be very useful. Keep in mind, if you are doing this all on your own, be aware that it is not as easy as some people say...I believe that it is totally worth it, but its now a small project. Good Luck!

well thanks for taking the time to hit me with some of your knowledge. thats what i need to hear. i have swaped engines before but not a rotary engine just more simple muscle car engines. i normaly have a pretty good amount of patiants and i'v got nothing but time. what scares me the most is the electronics side of things, because i dont really understand the rotary engine as well as i would like to. I hope this will force me to learn. i dont really know anything about the sensors that i'm going to need and are most of these things going to adapt or just connect to my existing wiring harnes? and my n/a trans just wont take the horsepower?? what about my rear end i thought that they were the same but i guess not. anyway thanks for talking to me and your information will be very helpfull i'm sure.

Enjoy learning about these engines! You've got experience with the piston side of the story, and once you see how simple these babies are you will be amazed and I promise.... in love.

The drivetrain will take it just like rotary kid said be easy on it. I would also get all hardened drivetrain mounts. That will help. What mods do you plan to do? I assume your going to do exhaust. I would go 3in from the turbo back. Youd probly be better off trying to get the turbo harness too. I bought mine brand new which was a real pretty penie($700) but ive heard you can splice the n/a one. You will need the boost sensor, afm, etc...Its not that bad if you have it all there. Do you plan on using emmisions? If not that would make things alot easier too.

what will happen if i give'er i little to much with the na drivetrain?? and if i put the turbo engine in now and i pop a tranny or something can i convert the rest later without taking the engine out?? o yeah and the mods i plan are 3in front to back and maybe getiing it ported and pollished in the future as well as maybe getting a better sounding bov but i would like to stay pretty close to stock just so i know i have some reliability and i'm not stuck on the side of the road all the time haha

It will break. In my experience, the stock driveshaft will break before the transmission lets go though. For most others, it's opposite.

Yes. You would just swap the turbo flywheel back onto the engine, then install the rest of the turbo drivetrain (including starter and slave cylinder).

No, but a lot more labor.

There's also something to be said for saving money until the project can be completed entirely.
