turbo carb setup question
turbo carb setup question
a carb dumps fuel in by simple vacuum through the thing, correct?
if you put a turbo on a carb'ed setup, do you put the compressor before or
after the carb? i figure that if you put it before the carb then once you hit boost, the positive pressure in the thing will blow back up the fuel letting in thing. if you put the compressor after the carb it will be sucking in extra air through the carb to build up boost between the compressor and intake manifold. this should speed up airflow through the thing, decreasing the pressure of the air, which should draw more fuel from the fuel letting in thing.
is that about right?
anyone have more specific info for me on turbo-carb setups?

Before the carb...
That's why the carb needs to be "rebuilt" for pressure use with a turbo/SC.
"Wet" turbo set-ups after the carb haven't been done for decades (see 1981 Pontiac Turbo Trans-Am).
