Turbo brake booster on NA?...

Does anyone know whether the turbo brake booster is actually more powerful than the NA one, and whether or not it can be used to make the NA brakes stronger (with or without the 4-pot brakes)?

Or would you need the turbo master cylinder too? Is it any different from the NA one, besides being designed for ABS (I think the 4-pot NA's have the same MC as single pot cars... not sure though).

A brand new Turbo booster does cost about 100 bucks more than the NA one...

The master cylinder is the same, the only difference is the plastic on top. The 4pot version holds more fluid. The ABS ones are different from non-ABS MCs.

The 4pot brake booster is bigger then the single pot.

If you are planning on doing a 5 lug swap, you do not need the 4pot booster. Though I have heard to keep same brake power ratio you need to upgrade the booster as well.

ok..here we go..the 4 lug booster is smaller But WORKS..the Five lug Booster is bigger..the TII booster has a Straight Pipe out of the Booster and you would need the correct Rubber line with the Check valve in in to run the brakes..The five lug booster ans the tII Booster are the same size,Physically, but the five lug booster has the same Pipe(little curved metal Pipe) extruding from the Booster For the Ribber line to go Th the steel line, which Connects to the Engine(to give you Vacuum)..Ther are Various Master cylinder set-ups Too..Try to use the Correct Set-up with the Proportioning valve(and Master Combo)..other wise you will have to Extend a Line from the Front Driver's side Brake to the Proportioning valve..Instaed of going to the master..Why do I know all this, you ask?..I have all the Various set-ups..and I Just WANTED ONE!..haha!..Take care..and Good luck!..Edit..sorry about the spelling, but I think you can read through it!

Not to contradict, but according to the FSM, on the S5's anyway, all the NA's use the same booster and MC, regardless of the brakes. The proportionning valve is the same for all. Only the TII got the bigger MC and dual diaphragm booster (NA = single). I would think the TII booster is more powerful, as it's got a larger MC to push.

Now I've read that the S5 TII booster is different, and is the only one you can use with the 929 MC, so it would be a good guess that you can't put an NA MC on a TII booster, on the S5 anyway.

The T2's MC has a bigger bore by like a millimeter or so...

I still wonder why, perhaps because ABS means you didn't need as much pedal modulation?... Although being able to just use a little bit of pedal force to apply full braking would be nice, if to not only save you the leg-ache on long trips, but so you can apply the brake with your ankle instead stead of your leg.

You could probably rig up a system to run the T2's MC though... but you'd need to modify the brake hoses.

If we knew the bolt pattern on the boosters, we could tell if the NA MC fit the T2 booster.

I think the reason the T2 can't use the NA's MC is because it only has two apertures for hoses, whereas the NA has 3 (although I suppose you could block one of them off).
