turbo argument

my friend and i have been arguing about turbos, my question is, i was wathing a video from racingflix of a mustang vs a supra w/ a T51R turbo, and it was really loud, my question is if he put that turbo on say a stock 300zx (the single turbo ones) and kept the boost at teh same setting but just w/ a BOV and i am aware that, that would be dumb but i am arguing is if it would be extremely loud like in that video. but wouldn' the exhasut be comin out just as fast and make the wheels spin just as fast but it would just come out of the BOV instead of goin in the engine at the specified boost, he says that the turbo will not spin as fast if it is set for lower boost

A t51r turbo flows a WAY WAY WAY higher CFM at 6psi than the stocker. But yes it would be reasonably loud.

A wastegate will bypass the exhaust turbine in the turbo so it stops spooling, limiting the boost it makes. A boost controller controls the wastegate (some what).

Blow off valves have nothing to do with the amount of boost a turbo puts out. They release positive manifold pressure when the engine is no longer under load.
