Yes I have searched I'm trying to find what the hp/tq holding capabilitys of the factory rx7 turbo 2 R type transmission.

I'm currently biulding a volvo b230FT with the 16v head and full rsi 2.8l stroker with a holset hx35w. I should be putting around 600rwhp/550ftlb.

If all you are going to add is flames about putting a volvo engine in a rx7 please do us all a favor and back out of the thread.

What type of trans was designed to be bolted to that engine? I'm not sure whats required to mate a T2 trans to that engine, but it may be simpler to use a different trans altogether.

If I had to take a guess, I'd say the T2 trans might be at it's limits in that power range.

 

that is about the highest you can expect the TII type R transmission to be able to handle, if you abuse it at those levels it won't like you for it and likely will break the case or strip all the teeth off of third.
