Turbo 2 Tranny/Diff strength (Drag)
So I've been rebuilding this t2 rx7 that previous owner used to drag race with and the engine is pretty nice and peppy but they used to drag race it with the stock T2 tranny/diff a long time ago (2011) now, I want to bring it back to the drag strip and would like to know any tips for launching or what tires to use to try and minimized the chance of breaking a tranny or diff/axles
(Photo of the actual car back in 2011 hehe) thanks...

Get drag slicks or drag radials, wheel hop is hard on components..
I drag raced my FC TII with 350ftlbs torque and later 450ftlbs torque at the wheels and never had any drivetrain issues there. You do need upgraded front diff mount and pinion snubber and upgraded trans and engine mounts would help too, but arent necessary till they break.
What turbo are you running?

It has a 70mm turbo 13b streetport doweled it had 370 at the wheels at 28psi not too much power but definetly is sufficient for me... Its a wild ride these rear suspension feel real loose I supose with slicks is worse but if they minimize wheel hop then thats what ill use the diff is strapped down with a chain over it welded to the subframe
The car is a basic streetcar nothing fancy still has ac and powersterring but would like to go race it every now and then
