It has been pointed out that its more often less expensive to sellyour n/a and buy a tii than it is to swap one, however if you want a project, anywhere from 1 to 2k to do the swap yourself. all depends on parts

Waste of time and money...Buy a TII

To do it for 2K would be a miracle and the swap may not be impossible but don't make it sound like the guy can round up a couple of friends and a 30 pack and bang it out in a weekend.

Just aquiring the items needed for the swap providing the engine will run (and the usually don't), S&H, etc. etc. will be more than buying a TII.

I have some buddies and it would only take a weekend, but they all own RX7's and have rebuilt / and, or converted them. A 30 pack would only hinder progress... THE BEAST is not a good choice when pulling an all nighter

I have done it, and well.... 2K would get me everything I need. But you need to search the forum and learn, learn, learn as much as you can before tackeling it. It is all here on the forum.

Instead of swapping to a t2, you can go down the (often shunned ) road of the 6 port turbo :-D

How ironic because that's how I got my N/A turned into a T2. And it wasn't a weekend it was a day. And the 30 pack was of diet Dr. Pepper.

But similiar to Radial GT, the guys were all RX7 guru's. heh

The pics look great and you did a great job. No doubt about it. Did you swap out the rear end, suspension, and braking over to a turboII?

Anyway you were fortunate to have a few rotary guru's assist you. In most cases this is not the case and 2K is still a very low number to work with period.

I spent $3500 on my first project but the engine ended having a seized eccentric shaft. If you can find someone that will hook you up, then it can be done for about $2000. I got a bunch of parts and might be hooking someone on some parts soon for their conversion.

I would think a J-spec swap would be the cheapest and easist.

Engine+trans = $1,200 shipped.
Rear and drive shaft = whatever you can get em for
Wire harness
other stuff...

Total, ~$3,000 DIY

Depending on FC, $900 - 2,000 + $3,000 = ~4-5k can't buy to many TIIs for that.

Depending on what you sell, and how much you get for it, I have seen swaps done for as little as $500 after everything is said and done
