tunign info
i just have one question. my car seems to be running too rich. exaughst has a strong raw fuel smell and it gives a little backfire after i let of the gas in high rpms. any suggestions on where to start? oh...and my gas mileage is about 17mpg on the highway, 10 city. thanks.

Welcome to the rotary world. Enjoy! The only way to fix it is put a nice rice b16 in it. Other than that its the nature of the beast, so drive it loud and proud.

First, full tuneup. Plugs, wires, filters, TPS adjustment, etc. etc.
Injector cleaning if it has never been done before (almost always the case). Ultrasonic is best, done by a professional shop.
While I rarely recommend aftermarket parts to "band aid" problems, an S-AFC is a great investment as it will allow you to lean the car out (all NA RX-7s run very rich stock), save fuel and pick up some power as well.
