Tuned ecu's

Has anyone had any trouble with installing one of those TII ECU's from japan that are tuned? I see them on e-bay every now and then and I am thinking about getting one, but I just want to make sure they are ok.

I would stay away from them. The chips are usually burned and matched to specific mods for the car that the ecu came from in Japan. Remember, even two cars with the same mods can be different as far as tuning goes.

Hes right. However, most of them have features that are useful, like no fuel cuttoff. I have a REDOM (RE Amemyia) flashed ecu and my car runs fine. Sometimes i think its even better, but maybe its just wishful thinkng. If your car is nearly stock and tuning is not that critical, it will be ok. Most of the times its just dumps more fuel at higher rpms and tweaks your timing a little.
