im curious about the psi lost.... thats crazy man...

i did a cai for the hell of it and didnt seem like i lost any power. car seemed to run more smoothly. also at night (when outside air is cooler anyways) my car seemed more responsive.
im going to take it off for now though and probably get a K&N, until i get some pipe bent for it and im going to make a plastic shield so the only water that will get to it will come through the fender.

No it's simple. DO IT RIGHT or don't do it at all. And experiments that have already been proven both in common sense and through many people testing does not count as your own R&D only stupidity. Not to mention such exercising methods as you have just demonstrated is not only dangerous to both yours and other drivers lives but incompetent.

thats because you put it in a correct spot and looks like you do not have a AFM.

Alright people, enough is enough. Constructive criticism is fine and welcomed, but blatant insults are not. Calling someone an idiot, saying their work is crap, and comparing their effort to stupidity is not an acceptable response.

I've let this thread go a bit because the original poster didn't seem to be bothered by the replies, but the fact is that they violate forum rules. Any more and the thread will be closed and warnings will be issued.

Keep it friendly.

Hey Aaron,

Close this thread. It really doesn't serve the purpose I had intended it to.

It was made as a joke and people are taking this way to seriously, and it was a ment as a joke.

Out-engineer mazda with left-over plumbing parts and intercooler piping. Jesus ******* christ iceblue, wake the **** up.

People need to get off their high-horse.

You may very well spool faster, but you're not gonna make MORE boost that way

yes god jr. ..... I'm endangering peoples lives when my air filter jumps off my car and hits the busdrivers window sending shard of glass in the drivers eyes the bus goes out of control flips over and runs into another bus then blows up kills 2 bus loads of babies.. final destination is just a movie. Pray to god i dont meet you in public because when you say stuff like this ill waste some of my time trying to clown you. I think for my next death defying car stunt i will port out my intake manifold.. wait i cant do that mazda must have done it right the first time. so hmm if i do that i must be a moron.. You seriously need to stop take a look in the mirror and realize you are nothing special... Maybe upgrading your social life as opposed to your car may not reduce you to posting foolish insults like your comment online, try it to someones face.. Its all about respect people.. You clearly lack the ability to respect others thoughts and a forum of any sort is not for you angry man. What excercising methods are you refering to by the way 8 count body builders, jumping jacks, push up, cherry pickers... im confused which ones may cause death? But i guess 290whp with a 2.5 inch exhaust and ghetto intake on a stock port engine is just dangerous (man we need a pissing contest icon made) bang your head into the wall now
Anyways..... the air flow over my air filter is whatever the ambient air is since my car does not have fenderwells (didnt come with any) the rain is the only downfall but since my RX7 is NOT MY DAILY (since is so dangerous to the public) its rare i get caught with my automotive pants down sucking up water mist. i have an after air intake temperature gauge and i cant remember what the improvements were but they helped its been this way for 2 years now.
