trying to order Racing Beat full S5 TurboII Exhaust.. HA!! Alternatives?

So we contacted Racing Beat about buying their full exhaust for my '90 TurboII, and they not only don't have in stock, their inventory is listed at -19 (that's negative nineteen).

Where do they get this exhaust from? Do they make it? If so, you'd think they could pump them out a little quicker than that..

Is there any exhaust that's better that I should look at? I still have to get a hold of SDJ Motorsports to see if they have a kit for TurboII's (they're the ones that got 172 or something dynoed HP out of a stock manifold/stock ported 12A with strict race specified rules).

I am going to have to step up and represent Racing Beat. I had the same problem they just sell out of the exhaust so fast. It took about 3 months to get mine but it is well worth it quality product and it does not look to outrageous (Greddy/Trust). Racing Beat Rules!!! IMO Peace.

Not to long ago RB had a fall out with RSR. They now go through another fabricator.

Logistacally, RB was not prepared for the demand. That is why there are back orders. The fabricator cannot keep up with demand.

If you like the quality...like I have, you will wait. Not unless you can get the full turbo back KnightSports TRUE dual s.s. exhaust system.

Patients....

I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that seems like a loooooong time to wait.

What other alternatives are there? Is the racing beat system like THE best out there? I'd imagine it'd actually ADD weight, but just because it's got to be so friggin' durable. I can deal with that.

When it's the most busy time of year for people to fix their cars you should realize that everyone wants everything now...

That's why you mod your car in the winter.

I don't think there is a better option for the person that wants close to stock exhaust, both look and sound. I don't want the stock look or sound personally. But Racing Beat is high quality mos def.

I tried to get their exhaust 6 months ago. they were out of it for about 4 months before they started making them again. (from december to april) 8 months ago the turbo II complete exhaust was being made by a different company other than RB (it was subcontracted by someone other thatn RSR, I forgot the name) Then the company wanted more money for making the exh so RB dropped them. Now RB is making the exhaust systems INHOUSE and there are differences in the exhaust than the "black" system posted in their catalog and on the web.

The new system's presilencer is welded completely to the downpipe. This makes it imposible (w/o rewelding) to put any old cat between the system's downpipe and ypipe. The entire system is now polished stainless and looks extremely good. MUch better than my "black" complete system. So theres a trade off between looks and emissions compatibility.

You may be better off and it might be cheaper for you to get a used RB complete turbo back system. The system is the same for all turbo II's (86-92). I bought my tII complete system for 500 bux.
$175 shipped for ypipe and mufflers
$150 shipped for presilencer
$175 shipped for factory defect (scratch in black) NEW DP from RB, 4 gaskets.
Maybe another 10 bux for hardware nuts and bolts.

Also keep in mind that the complete system is stainless and should last more than 10 years, so a used system should get you for a long time.
