Trying to identify this wire...

Hey. My car is shorting on something and keeps blowing my main fuse. At one point a wire actualy got so hot it melted its insulation, I'm trying to find out what this wire leads to so I can fix the short. The wire that melted was coming off the positive terminal of the battery, and it was the smaller of the two red wires, it goes into a loom and I can't follow it. I have an 88 TII.
