Exclamation Trying to get my car running.

Hey guys, Ive got a 88 RX-7 N/a and here recently I
snapped the altanator belt while doin some serious speed. Before I could replace the belt my **** eyed cusin started it. I then replaced the belt and fired her up and she started smokin and then proceded to choak out and then die. Now I cant get the RX-7 to start but it will turn over. SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT MY PROBLEM IS.

what color was the smoke? also how long did you continue driving with the broken belt after your "need for speed"?

I did the same thing before upgrading to a dual belt system. broke the belt while driving at low rpm for a couple of miles before I noticed a faint coolant smell. pulled over, let it cool for about 30 mins, got in and drove it back home. replaced the belt with fingers crossed and been driving her since.

good luck ~rich
