Trying to decide what color to paint my FC

I am currently in the process of finishing all the body work on my 86 GXl. Now I have to decide what color to paint it. I'm pretty sure I want to stick with with some sort of red, but not sure what red. Please post all the good looking red FC's you can thanks.

Thanks, Ed

What about that orangeish Red that ford had on the early 90's Stang and more recently the Splash?

Just a thought....

Scott

PS I think it called Vibrant Red.

I would go with a mystic red-blue-green-purple. Expensive, but awesome.

Mystic.... looks alright on parts and on show vehicles, but I haven't seen one car I like OTHER THAN a 96 Mystic Cobra that it looked good on. The Cobra looked more black than mystic, but most seem to look really greenish metallic.... I'd say go Black. I'm also trying to get my car painted, but it'll probably cost a few grand and I'm broke as hell right now, so I've got a ton of time to see what yours looks like and copy it if I like it. Just kidding man, but good luck finding something you like.

I just typed in "Vibrant Red" into the address bar and it brought back a ton of search results of Ford cars. There was a 93 (I think)Mustang with the color on it that looks pretty decent. I still think I like black or metallic blue better though.

Stay away from black! Sure, it'll look bad as hell when it's clean. But it shows every bit of dust and dirt. I have a black FC that I want to paint the same dark silver color as the IS300. Even when a metallic silver is dirty, it still looks pretty good. Just something to consider. Here around Seattle when it rains it usually is a even mist all day this time of year (except this week - flooding in the valleys). Cars don't stay clean too long around here. Not to mention all the pine tree pollen. And all the....well you get the idea.

i think it is UniqueTII that has painted his FC in the BASF/Harlequin paint...that looks awesome!

and boosted7 has painted his FC in a metallic purple which has come out A1...

I'm partial to purple or a green myself. Reds fade very quickly i'm told, and you have to get *exactly* the right shade...like that deep ferrari red is OK, but the rest kinda suck IMHO

I know is seems drab and takes about three or four coats of clearcoat before it looks shiny, but white hides alot.

Other than mud. My white Grand Prix I had always looked relatively clean because the water spots from rain never showed up distinctly. Plus I think white with all tinted windows looks sweet w/ some aftermarket wheels and tires.

Or else green and silver look good too.

Personally, I really hate that "Splash" color. Looks like a friggin' woman's drink at the bar.

Weak and waaayyy too fruity

Still deciding

I am partial to red because I think the lines of the car look good in red. I was thinking about a red like this T2. I also like soulassasin's pearl red.

Blaze Red (TII color)
Spa Yellow (NSX color)
Greenish black (Infini color)
I saw a graphite metallic on an IS300 that looked very good.
The blue that I've seen in a couple of the avatars (that one makes me drool)

I would go with a nice blue color. Like that blue that the new civics come in blue-purple pearl or something.

Cool, somebody else likes the same IS300 metallic grey as I do. Very understated, yet classy. The Supra color that was mentioned is called Anthracite I believe.

Saw a 4Runner the other day running a dark metallic silver colour...not sure if it is the same colour as the IS300 mentioned a couple of times above, but it looked AMAZING. I know this is the colour I'll be getting if I ever get a paint job.

Just checked the Toyota website, its called Thunder Cloud Metallic.
Sweet...

Peace,
Nima
