True dual exhausts?

Be patient Its christmas
I read a thread a while ago about this. 1100 or so $ is alot of money but if the gain really is 28% its worth it.
Personally im making my own 2.5" single exhaust, but i live in Denmark where no one cares and inspections only occour every 2 years.
If you are handy with a welder you can make your own exhaust for about 300$.---Kim

Aight I also read a thread that a non-ported 13b N/A will have more power gains with the down pipe setup, unless your running a large street ported engine you don't need duals you may even lose power, definatly at the low end, the down pipe keeps low end torque and has almost Identical power number high in the rpms but not as much as a dual setup would be, so you'd accelerate better from 5.5 to 8k but have almost no power below 4k, and the noise is still loud as **** low in the rpms and your not going anywhere cause the lack of torque.....

This system is the culmination of considerable testing time here at Mazdatrix, using many different designs and pipe sizes. The result is by far the best HP from a bone-stock 86-92 13B non-turbo we have seen. We showed a 28% increase in rear wheel HP on a chassis dyno with this system. Torque is increased greatly from 2000 RPM on up, with the power peaking at 7000 RPM.
that is directly off the mazdatrix site

Settle down there kids....
I'll set this straight for you guys since I have first hand experience with the dual and a single presilencer setup on my previous NA S5.
Dual presilencer, non collected..... much more quiet than a single presilencer and adds more power than a single outlet header or DP combo on a stock port motor, PERIOD. This may have changed recently since you cannot get the duals with the HKS mufflers anymore. The HKS units were slightly more quiet than the RB units
Single presilencer..... a tad bit louder, power is higher on rev range, still more power than DP on stock port motor.
Scott, the last time I talked with Mazdatrix, they were the only ones selling the dual exhaust, they use RB stuff to weld up their own "center section".
Kim, this exhaust is a street exhaust, not a race exhaust, MT needs to put that disclaimer on to protect themselves. Everybody knows that a "long primary" exhaust would stomp on the duals for generating power, but getting a long primary system in a 2G is kind of a bitch.
There is no dougbt that you can build a dual exhaust for much less than Mazdatrix sells them, but there is some value in just bolting something in and having it work the very first time.
