88' nonturbo. my car had a major problem when I try to crank it. It doesnt make any cranking noise. I just chged the alternator and spark plugs are ok (new). It feels like there is no power to ignite. It takes a few times to get it to start. Very weird...

Plz help me out anyone....

Does it click?

 

It clicks and start but it feels like a dead battery w/ not enuff juice to get it started....I need to try a few times to get it to start.

 

Have you checked the battery terminal connections? They may be loose or corroded.

 

I did that...it is actually very clean...

 

Turn the headlights on next time you try to start it. See if they go off when it clicks. If not, I'd check the starter solenoid or the ignition switch. If they go off, I'd check the engine and battery grounds.

 

it starts ok today....it seemed to be a random problem.
