trouble with reverse lights

my reverse lights stopped working, or i think they did. when i first got the fc about 1.5 months, the reverse lights would work... every now and then. now they dont work at all. i checked the bulbs, and the wiring in the back looks fine. is there a fuse i can look for? i checked the fuse box under the driver dash and i didnt find any light fuse it could be. help please.

TIA, tristan.

The reverse lights are fed from the METER fuse, so if your gauges are working then the fuse is not the problem. Most likely it's a flakey 5th/reverse switch on the gearbox, or it might just be a switch's wiring.

Have a look at the switch's location in the FSM Manual Transmission chapter. If you don't have the FSM, click here and download it in PDF format for free.

If the switch is already bad, wiring in a relay won't help...

Wiggle the shifter in and out of reverse and have someone look at the reverse lights. If they come on briefly, it's likely the switch on the transmission. Check for 12vdc on the switch wire. Don't ask me which of the wires. I forgot.

reverse switches

Are they a pain to find if they are bad? Any sources beyond e-bay and the items for sale forum?

if they use to work, check the connector that goes to the tranny... maybe it was barely connecting, then just unplugged itself
