Arrow Trim?

was wondering about the trim on the 86-88. i tore a peace off and their weir holes behind. was wondering if anybody has molded the trim to make a shaved look?? or if anybody has done anything else?? also im in st.louis and in april or may i will be looking for a 89-92 n/a or tII for about $3000 to $3500 thanks for the help

i was searching topics about Chrome trim, or getting the original shiny( painting or other meathods) but i didnt find any, anyone got ideas?

applying a chrome-like or shiny finish to plastic is very hard to do right, you might get close with silver thats been rubbed out right, the thing is the side trim is basically there for door ding pevention as with any car, its about as pretty as its gonna get, chraome trim on rx7's looks generally tacky anyways the each car is a totally different look to me the S4 and S5 trim i mean they change the car alot anyways it personal preferance, if you like it then do it

I just scrubbed off the oxydized rubber (s4 trim) with a scotch brite pad and applied some silicone based tire shine. S5 trim you would have to paint.

As for the original question, I have heard of people shaving the molding by either filling the holes and leave the recesses, or the painstaking welding in a strip of metal and grinding/filling it smooth with the body. Looks much cleaner, but much more work.
