Tried to change my ring and pinion
I just tried to change my ring and pinion and didn't know tp get the bearing too. My question though is, does anyone know what the bearing located on the pinion below the teeth, is called? I checked Mazdatrix and Racing beat and they have a like 3 or 4 bearings and no actual picture showing me what each one is. All the other bearings are good on the pinion I just can't take the bearing off. I'd really appreciate the help.
Oh and would anyone know where else I could find one besides those two places? Thanks
Mike

There are two front a middle and a rear bearing.
The front of the pinion is the end the prop shaft bolts too with the flange and nut and the rear of the pinion has the gear on it sounds like your talking about the front so you should need two. Needs to be set up too if your asking are you sure your capable of doing the job you should put a new collapsing sleve and correct spacer in.
If not done right it wont last.

it's called a pinion bearing, you will need to call them to verify which is the correct number. that is one of the down sides to their site in not having very good descriptions of some parts like that and no diagrams of certain items.
the one nearest the gear on the pinion is larger of the 2 located on the pinion so my guess is the more expensive of the 2 bearings is the correct one.

IIRC, the ring and pinion need to be "pre-loaded," when they're assembled. This job isn't just a matter of changing the gears and you're ready to go. More to it than that. It's beyond my knowledge, but you may want to check into it further, or you may be doing the job twice.
