Angry Tricks to getting a Stuck UIM off of a S5 N/A?

Hey there,
I just pulled the engine out of my GTUs today and started to break it down to the shortblock. I have all the bolts, nuts, vacuum lines, and hoses off of the UIM and I can't get it to pull apart from the LIM.

Is there any tricks to weakening the gasket etc.?

It's just stuck on there real good and before I started prying and hitting on it I wanted to find out if theres a better way.

Thanks guys.

Make sure all the bolts are out and give it a nice slap with a rubber hammer. If you are talking about the intermediate section and the lower, there is a long bolt in the center that is easy to miss.

I'm talking about the Upper w/ the throttle body. Theres the four bolts and two nuts that hodl it to the lower. I have all of them off and it wont budge. I just gave it a few good smacks with a rubber mallet too.

You didn't just smack the UIM with a rubber mallet did you? If you did put a chisel where your wanting to break it off at and smack it with the mallet on the end of the chisel.

And if that's what you did, then hit it harder.

When i had to replace my pulsation damper and i couldnt get the UIM off as well. I just stood on top of the car and pulled really hard and hoped i didnt fall when it finally came loose. Probably not the best way to do it but it worked lol. Wish i could find the picture too.
