Trasmission noise?

Just last night when I got back home, I parallel parked my car like normal, but when I was settling into the spot I heard this weird noise coming from the transmission. I hear the noise when the clutch is pushed down, and the car is in gear, it sounds like a squeaky shopping cart wheel (bad bearing somewhere?) The noise goes away when the car is put in neutral. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

well the same thing happened to me, whenever I pushed the clutch pedal in, it would sound like a rattling thing. IN nuetral its fine. If you have problems downshifting as well (i.e. grinds) then its a worn out release bearing. When we took mine out it was like a skateboard bearing, one trun and it kept spining.

Noise with the tranny in gear and the car not moving can't be from the tranny.
It has to be in the clutch/release bearing/pilot bearing area..

Push clutch pedal down just slightly to remove freeplay. If noise appears throw out bearing. If no noise, push to floor, if noise appears, pilot bearing.

Ok, thanks. I drove it today, and it makes noise driving around too. I was just about to sell this car for another RX, and the resale value is dropping every day

Let's try this again.
Noise with the tranny in gear and the car not moving can't be from the tranny or anywhere after it.
It could be something loose in the exhaust.
Maybe look around up front. It could be something simple around the belts & pullies.
