somebody just let me know what your tach reads a 70mph in 5th gear.

 

do you have a turbo or n/a?

my tii reads 3200 rpm or there about

 

what car? s4 s5? n/a t2? auto manual?

 

I just bought the car. It a 91 non-turbo 4-speed auto and I am not sure if it is shifting into OD. In the supposed OD the tach reads right at 4000rpm at 70 mph and I am just about positive that it is only shifting throught the first three gears. I just wondered what the tach reads on a manual at 70. thanks for the info. I guess Ill have to get it into the shop.

 

yes my na auto reads about 2500 in 4th at 70 3000 at 80 3800 at 100--- 4500 120 have'nt been past 120 yet...
in 3rd gear it reads at 3000 55. check your tranny out!
