Transmition Questions
Ok my tranny is acting up again. It had stopped its antics completly but now its doing it again. I actually have 2 questions.
1) what happens if you put ATF in a standard instead of the thick heavy gear oil?
2) what else do you need to bolt a T2 tranny to a NA?
Thanks

as far as the TII tranny goes i think youve gotta change most the drivetrain for that one --- diff, half shafts, flywheel, drive shaft, and perhaps counterweight... oh yeah the starter too... but i think the wiring harness is the same.
although many manufacturers recommend ATF in their gearboxes, such as most newer fords(if not all), and lots of imports. it would be best to stick with the GL-5 gear lube just because thats what mazda says. you could maybe give it a shot though.

1) I don't know, I haven't had the ***** to try it.
2) Flywheel, clutch disk, pressure plate, clutch slave cylinder, transmission, driveshaft, differential, and half-shafts.
If you get a custom driveshaft made you can make the Turbo II transmission bolt up to the n/a differential. Although, I'd rather have the Turbo II diff since it's a limited slip unit.
