Arrow Transmisson replacement/swap

I am looking to do somthing to my transmisson this winter. Either rebuild it, replace it, or swap it. I have a 1990 FC N/A manuel tranny. Can I hook up a Turbo tranny to it? and if so which one would work the best? Has anyone rebuild there trannys and if so where can i find the parts (upgraded). -Jeremy

Turbo tranny would also require the turbo starter, flywheel, clutch, and either a cutom driveshaft, or the TII driveshaft, rear-end, and halfshafts.

I recommend rebuilding your own if you are up to it; it far beats out any used replacement tranny. No one makes any upgraded parts besides a clutch upgrade. Mazda is your best bet for the internal seals and synchros. Budget $500 or so.

Just did this. I think that it's a great way to go, except for what the guy above said. Mazdatrix sells a custom TII trans to N/A rear end drive shaft for ~$300 and they have the flywheel (Racing Beat steel I went with) and clutch that you need. Also, you can save yourself some headaches (read: Save MONEY) by just getting a clutch disk that has the spline setup that you need for the TII trans and the diameter for the N/A flywheel and PP.

My $.02

I would say if you're going to go with the stronger TII tranny, just go ahead and switch out the rest of the rear end while you're down there.
