Transmission/throttle questions per TII

So I just bought my second 10AE yesterday and am in the process of pinpointing it's various "issues".

It makes an interesting scraping/whirring sound during acceleration in 4th gear. Grinds everytime I shift into 5th, but never pops out of gear and doesn't have to be forced in. Syncros, perhaps? Shifts fine into every gear except 5th. Just 4th with that sound and 3rd every now and then as if it wants to do what 4th is doing.

Next question: The car builds and holds boost like a charm, but if I let off the throttle entirely whilist boosting, an odd sound is made that seems to come from the steering column. It's something of a "click", actually very similar to when a turn signal clicks off. I can't figure out what this would be. Partial throttle release or release all together out of boost does not result in this sound.

These are the two main concerns I'm having at the moment....any input would be appreciated.

Might get rid of grinding noise if you change your gear oil to synthitic, I have heard many good things about redline gear oil.

As for the click noise.. I have a N/A and can't help you there.

Enjoy your new baby.
