Hey bro, I have a 90 GXL that was auto and I converted it to a 5. Actually I had Kevin Landers do it, on the forum he goes by hypntyz7. it was pretty quick and easy. The tranny only cost 350 and with all teh extra parts i needed to get and the labor to have him do it, it cost me 725. Only took about 3 or 4 hours to do the whole swap, except we also put in a 4.1 rear end so that took a few hours more too. You will need the tranny, drive shaft, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, pedal assembly, clutch master cylinder, line and slave cylinder, shift lever and starter. Do a search for a thread called "auto -> Manual" You will also need to custom make a cross member adapter, because the mounting points of the two tranny's and their crossmembers is different. They are very easy to make, but for more info just find teh thread I mentioned before. Also try my thread "auto -> manual: done" for more info and more details. HAVE FUN

It is the best thing you will ever do !!!!!!!!!! I did it and the only thing I had to find was a piece of steel from Lowes 12 inches by 4 inches and drilled 3 holes . Every thing else bolted right up. just make sure you get the right flywheel for your year car and you will have no problems at all .

What about going from an 86-88 N/A tranny to a TII tranny and complete driveline? Direct swap? Need any custom stuff? I might eventually need to do this with the new 87 SE.

Direct bolt in with .....

I helped RX7_Ragtop put a T2 drive train in his Convertable, It was basicly a direct swap with adozen trips to local parts stors for small stuff liek differnt length bolts. washers the T2 starter was another small oversight for us if I remember correctly It didnt require much just a lot of patience. And doing it in the rain wasnt helping us any at all either

Oh yea we swapped everything from the fly wheel to the yokohamas.
