Transmission shaft wobble

The shaft in my tranny has a lot of play to it. I don't know if both ends are like that, but the tail end is pretty bad. It's whining pretty loudly under low RPM and any gear past 3rd. Is the whole tranny shot or is there something in there I can replace?

One or more bearings is/are bad. Basically, it's rebuild time.

you might be able to get away with just switching the rear bearing, look in the FSM and pull thetail stock off, you'll need a gear puller and the extension straps its pretty easy to get too

the rebuild kits for the trannies are pretty cheap too you could do it all its fairly easy, just have to make some custom tools for it

or just buy a new tranny

I have a tranny that is unsuitable for driving but all parts are good. I guess I'll pull apart the tail and see whats up with the rear bearing. Thanks fellas.
