transmission servos

hey everyone i have 1990 rx7 gxl n/a but it has 64,xxx miles and when i am going fast and basically bring my first gear to redline to shift if i try to shift super fast i fell and hear a chirp its not the tires like the servo isnt spinning fast enough???? if thats the problem how much does it cost??? how much labor is in the fix??? if this isnt the problem please tell me thxxx

This is an automatic I presume? We had a couple of the Mazda 6's on the Zoom Zoom tour that were automatics. After most of the tour one of them started doing the exact thing you a hearing. (the cars were on the Speed6 course and not everyone can drive a stick) I would check to see if the fluid smells burned, if it does change it and put in a new filter. If it doesn't its only a matter of time before the problem will get worse. Every time you hear it you've taken a few hours off the life of the tranny because things are slipping.

how can he try to shift super fast if it's an automatic? unfortunately, other than that I can't really help here...
