As per my other thread, my tranny is going to need some attention (sooner or later) so I wanted to get started on things now (gathering info/parts). I have a 1990 NA MT. Where can I get a rebuild kit? More specifically, I need to know what parts I need. I've done some searching but I'm not sure if I've found exactly what part#'s I need. Could you point me in the right direction of some good vendors/parts sales sites? Thanks!

 

I got my turbo transmission (so-called "R" type tranny, which are similar to Ford Ranger manual transmissions) rebuilt from a shop and they had kits available from their vendor, although there were a couple parts they had to get from Mazda like the 5th gear synchro (87 tranny). Few people on this forum do their own transmission work. You are better off finding a drivetrain shop and see if they can order you something.
