transmission problems need help!

transmission problems need help!

i just bought a 90 mazda rx-7 gtu and my trani has a puase between gears were the motor revs out and then it hits the next and goes fine till the next gear. and my linkage i think is messed up does anyone now what the problem is or does anyone know where i can buy an automatic trani for it

Do a 5 speed conversion. The automatics are not very good, so I wouldn't bother repairing the trans, just change over to a 5 speed. A lot of threads on the procedure.

i would really like to switch but what kind of work would that need other than cuting holes for shifter and clutch?

no need to cut holes or anything of that nature.. the only thing that requires some real work is the Tranny Crossmember .... its almost a direct swap...

i have had people say that it is alot more work and that you have to change the flywheel and the trani mounts have to be redrilled
