Transmission Problems

ok all my gears work fine, but when i pull out of 1st into 2nd it grinds as if i dont have the clutch in. Unless when i pull out of first go into neurtral let off the clutch, then push the clutch in again and put into 2nd in goes in just fine, sorry if that didnt make any sense any ideas, will i have to get a new transmission or is it something small i can get fixed

The 2nd gear syncro is getting worn out.

Before throwing a rebiuld at it, have you tried synthetic gear oil?
It can't hurt, and it will buy it some more life.

Also - as cheap insurance, bleed the clutch hydraulic fluid.

Ok will do, so basically what ur telling me is i can give it a little more life, but eventually soon i should get a rebuild?

yeah, all rx7s built before some month (i forgot wich) in 1986 or 87... i forgot... but there was a service bulletin or recall or something for the 2 gear sincro going out in those rx7s. i have an 86 and my buddy has an 86 (his build date says 85 tho) and both of our trannys grind second
