Unhappy transmission problems

Alright, so I have an 88 2nd gen. se and I got it last August. It's only got 47,000 miles on it and it was bone stock when I got it. My clutch blew by december, and ever since I've been having problems with my 2nd gear synchro's and sometimes, if I start my car in neutral, it won't shift into gear at all. I've heard that I should just get another transmission, so I was wondering what you people thought about whether or not I should get another transmission and where I should get it from. I've also heard about people putting the TII transmission in the na car because the turbo's transmission is "stronger." Would that be more expensive? What else would I have to change? Thanks for the help.

The TII trans will not mate to your n/a diff w/out a a/t driveshaft (and I've been told only like 1-3" will actually fit into the trans or a custom driveshaft.

You may have a clutch or pilot bearing problem.
With the engine off, jack up a rear wheel.
Have someone put it in 4th and step on the clutch.
You should be able to feel any excess drag in the clutch by turning the rear tire.
Compare that with how it feels in neutral.
